IEEE 802.16 - Broadband Wireless Metropolitan Area Networks
The IEEE 802.16 defines the WirelessMAN air interface standard. This provides a highly efficient use of bandwidth and supports voice, video and data services. It allows the broadband wireless industry to install high data rate systems quickly, without extensive metropolitan cable infrastructures requirements.
