Depreciation
The value that an asset loses over time - typically, the asset's useful life. An example could be a machine used to produce a product which may have a useful life of five years; therefore, it loses 20% of its value each year. That 20% appears on the profit and loss statement (P P P&L L L) is included as depreciation
