GZIP

GZIP is a free compression algorithm employed on operating systems such as Linux, UNIX& class="picturelink" title="Click for a larger photo">8482 and Windows in order to reduce the size of files for storage and transmission. Other popular compression systems include WinZip, and PKZip.
