HCF Controlled Channel Access

The term HCCA is used in wireless networks supporting the IEEE 802.11e Quality of Service standard. It is a component of the HCF and provides support for parameterized Quality of Service. It inherits some of the rules of the legacy PCF as well as introducing many additions. HCCA provides polled access to the Wireless Medium but unlike PCF operation, this may take place in both the CP and CFP.
