Hypertext Transport Protocol

Hypertext Transport Protocol is the standard protocol for the carriage of data around an internet. The protocol supports a variety of data types, media and file formats. HTTP terminates at the client and server, these are typically the users web browser and the web server. HTTPS (Secure HTTP) is an additional protocol function used to encrypt the HTTP payload.
