Intermediate (Level 2)

Courses in this category are ideal for staff working with technical products and services, and for staff and managers new to the area of study.

They typically study a more specific topic, and in more detail, than our Level 1 courses. They often include demonstrations, and may be hands-on.

  • QoS in IP and MPLS Networks
    A course on overcoming the limitations of packet networks for NGN, using 802.1p/q, Difffserv, Intserv, MPLS-TE, DS-TE. The basic IP protocols are unable to give guarantees or even management of Quality of Service (QoS) of the type required to carry many applications successfully. With the adoption of IP as the end-to-end protocol of NGN, a combination of techniques to augment the basic behaviour of IP is required, both at the IP layer itself, and in the underlying layer 2 technologies.
