Introduction to MPLS
Key Information
Prerequisites:
None
Outline and Objectives:
Since its introduction as an alternative to traditional IP over ATM approaches, the core technology of MPLS has been used to develop and implement three major applications; IP-VPN services, Ethernet VLAN services, and as a core service provider traffic engineering (MPLS-TE) technique. This course gives a comprehensive introduction to the base technology of MPLS, and to these three important applications of MPLS in current and NGN networks. Interworking of existing packet-based services such as Frame Relay and ATM with MPLS is also addressed, as well as support for QoS in MPLS networks.
Who Should Attend:
This course is aimed at product managers, cross-training engineers, operations staff, and anyone who needs to understand quickly and concisely the different roles of MPLS as deployed in public networks.
