Internet Protocol
The Internet Protocol provides a connectionless service between networks. The protocol provides features for addressing, type-of-service specification, fragmentation and reassembly, and security. It is a Layer 3 protocol in the TCP/IP protocol stack and is defined in RFC (Request For Comments) 791.
