IRCID
Initial Ranging Connection Identifier
A term used in IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) 802.16 networks to describe a connection identifier which is used by a subscriber station during the initial ranging process. This CID (Connection Identifier) is defined as a constant value within the protocol since a subscriber station has no addressing information available until the initial ranging process is complete.
