The term Microwave describes electromagnet radiation with the frequency range of 890MHz to 30GHz. Microwave links are commonly found in telecommunication networks as they provide a relatively quick and cheap method of connecting points within the network. However, it should be stated that microwaves travel in straight lines and as such, it is necessary to have a clear line of site between transmitter and receiver. Microwave frequencies are also often used for the radio link between earth and satellites in orbit.
