Packet Data Serving Node

A Packet Data Serving Node is responsible for the establishment, maintenance and termination of a PPP (Point to Point Protocol) session towards the MS (Mobile Station). It may also assign dynamic IP addresses in addition to supporting Mobile IP functionality. It provides a similar function to the GSN (GPRS Support Nodes) found in GSM and UMTS networks.
