Signalling Transport
SIGTRAN is the name of the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) working group exploring the protocols and services required to support traditional signalling protocols or IP. The typical protocols found in the SIGTRAN architecture include SCTP (Stream Control Transmission Protocol), M3UA (MTP3 User Adaptation) and M2UA (MTP2 User Adaptation).
