TEK
Traffic Encryption Key
TEK is a generic term used in network security to describe the key which is used to encrypt the traffic stream. TEKs are typically used in symmetrical encryption systems and are changed frequently, possibly on an hourly basis although some systems will change the TEK on a message by message basis.
