UMTS Architecture and Protocols
Key Information
Prerequisites:
Familiarity with the architecture and operation of 2G systems (GSM), such as is provided by our course Introduction to GSM System Engineering is assumed.
Outline and Objectives:
The shift to 3G networks for voice and data services is progressing rapidly around the world, as operators follow the 3GPP architecture road map towards all-IP networks with higher data rates and increased services, and convergence with other access networks and fixed-line services and content. This course gives a well-rounded technical view of the elements, interfaces and key protocols of UMTS networks.
Who Should Attend:
This course is suitable for attendees with a background in 2G mobile networks, and wishing to cross-train to 3G. Candidates in engineering, engineering management, and operationswill find this course useful.
