VDSL2

Very High Speed Digital Subscriber Line

VDSL2 (Very High Speed Digital Subscriber Line) is regarded as one of the future solutions for the optimization of services such as Triple Play, which will incorporate VoIP, broadband Internet and HDTVoIP (High Definition Television over IP) over existing copper Twisted Pair. VDSL2 is predicted to provide symmetrical links of up to 100Mbps, although this figure is largely dependent on the length of copper twisted pair available. VDSL2 uses similar modulation techniques to ADSL, with the increased bandwidth a direct result of the close proximity to a fibre optic node.
