Virtual Local Area Network

VLAN is a term used to refer to an Ethernet network that shares the same physical infrastructure as other VLAN but is a logically separate entity. VLAN traffic is separated by marking each frame with a VID (VLAN ID), as specified by the IEEE 802.1Q working group.
